The macaron, not to be confused with the macaroon, is a little bite of happiness.
A creamy layer of buttercream or jam sandwiched between two crisp shelled and chewy centred almond meringues.
Predominantly a French confection, this little delight’s origins debut back to 1533.
The macaron as it is most famously known today, is the creation of Pierre Desfontaines of the French pâtisserie Ladurée, composed of two almond meringue discs filled with a layer of buttercream, jam, or ganache filling.
Now you can enjoy them fresh, daily, right here in Ballarat.
